I could feel my blood pressure rising. You can always hand-pick statistics to prove whatever thesis you start with. I'll counter the "rich people have more sons" statistic with the "countries at war have more sons" statistic (I don't have clickies to back it up, but I do remember reading that the Irish have more sons than daughters and have been for a long time, because they've been fighting the English for so many generations). The only gender statistic that makes sense to me is the "jet (test) pilots have more daughters" because of the g-forces they undergo (and the male sperm just don't make it out the gate). I'll also go so far as to say that a 50 year old man married to a 25 year old woman has already HAD his "mid-life crisis" (because that's how he got his infant bride in the first place). I've lost what little respect I had for Psychology Ptoday. Ptui.
