ServerNorth is a business, and virtualisation offers a couple more things than hardware consolidation (which cuts energy costs).

It also offers a lot better failover capacity (in the worst case, Uf would've had an outage of minutes, not hours), and makes backups easier (you just backup the VMs).

Not to mention that you can perform easier maintenance, by moving a VM to one server, and shutting down the other. A Good Thing if you have commodity servers (i.e. based off x86 hardware), and don't want to invest into a blade center.
