Can anyone suggest a scanner? by Khaar 2007-07-09 05:52:25
I know there are many scanners out there and more or less the same, but pretty much all I've seen have the same problem. They overlight the image, which is quite a problem because usually when I have something to scan it's a pencil drawing and I lose much of the shadings (I draw quite light). Yes, I know there are various settings involving colour, gamma and whatnot, but those work well only on midtones, but do pretty much nothing on light tones. Once it's white, it's white and there's no amount of software that can tell the difference between white and more white.

Oh, it still has to be cheap, because I don't need to scan often enough that the image quality would outweigh the price.

Thanks in advance.
