I know she just makes the parts just like you'd roast a chicken. So, rub under the skin with sage and other herbs, usually with a little butter I think, then roast it; put the asparagus and any other veggies you're roasting in the bottom of the roasting pan, put chicken on top and roast. That's the basic premise anyway. The juices from the roasting chicken flavor the veggies. It's probably my second-favorite dish she makes.
