New low : Using cane to get to work. by klar_at_work2007-07-03 00:44:27
Nothing wrong with using a cane! by SouthpawPL 2007-07-03 10:16:31
Do you feel self-conscious about using and carrying a Leatherman? No? Then why would you feel that way about using a cane? A cane is a tool, nothing more. I use one, myself. Not all the time, granted, but I'm looking at the prospect of using it more in the future.

My family has a genetic disposition towards bad hips. My Dad got his left hip replaced 23 years ago, and my sister -who is three years younger than me- is scheduled for replacement this summer. I fully expect to get one within twenty years. In the mean time, when my hips ache (they take turns), I use a cane.

Think on this, too: it could be worse. You could be required to use a crutch. Or a walker.
