solution for the clothes by tyebald 2007-07-03 07:31:14
They've got "vacuum" pack bags now that don't require a vacuum. You just squeeze the air out through a one-way vent. Surprisingly, the clothes didn't get wrinkled (no more than they would have in a suitcase).

I fit ten days of clothes into a bag the size of an international carry-on. :) Mostly t-shirts, but also some button-down shirts, shorts, and then I put pants in on top. Five ought to be a cinch.

By the way, I use a backpack for my laptop as well. Next business trip, that's all I'm taking is the backpack. It's black and gray, and I would say it looks professional enough. Targus seems to put out a decent line of laptop toting options.
