It has a separate laptop inlay. You can take out the laptop part and use the backpack as a regular backpack once you arrived where you want to go. Next to my laptop (IBM T42) it holds a ringbinder and more. Lots of places to put small things, too. And it also fits the airlines restrictions on hand luggage if you don't cram too much into it.
It's the "750 Series / PRO-DLX" backpack. I don't know if it's available in the UK, though.
