You're saying that "free will" requires uncertainty of actions on the part of God. I'm saying that "free will" requires uncertainty on the part of the humans making a choice. That is, it's the humans making the choice (with some level of uncertainty about the choice beforehand, and possibly about its eventual outcome) who have the free will.
As far as "being bound by the inevitability of the events", the typical take on that is that God *chose* to allow himself to be so bound, seeing an intervention at that point as less an act of love than the allowed operation of human free will.
The question of whether God has free will or not is yet another hornet's nest.
Could one make a word in German which meant "hornet's-nest-poker"? Because I think we should each get one :-D |
