The German saying would equivalent by CynicalRyan 2007-07-03 06:39:31
to "poking the hornet's nest".

Besides, we already opened a can-of-worms with this discussion alone.

Back to the point: Yes, it does exclude the idea of free will. God knows all. Everything. He has to, or he wouldn't be God. Thus, he knows an event will happen. He knows *when* it will happen [in His time frame, this becomes even more simple, if God exists in all of time at the same time (i.e. isn't bound by the passing of time like we humans)]. He knew the event would happen, and he even knew the consequences (omniscient, remember?). And free will needs uncertainty of actions to work (so it only works on our level, since we cannot see past the choices we don't understand, to quote the Oracle form The Matrix).

The least we can say is, that God was bound by the inevitability of the events of eating an apple. Which is problematic, since God is omnipotent, too.

And I'm getting a headache now. Excuse me, while I'm getting something to drink. :)
