the other day. I could see it in her eyes, that she intended to run away from me once we got outside. I set her on the ground and told her she had to hold my hand as we walked across the parking lot.

We got a few feet out the door. She let go of my hand and went running in the other direction. I went and picked her up and carried her to the car, even though she was screaming that she wanted to walk. She had lost her walking privileges, and I was not going to let her run away from me again.

Am I not so good, because I allowed my daughter the free will to make her own choices, even though I knew what her choice was going to be? Am I not so good because I disciplined her for the choice she made?
