and I increasingly get the feeling I'm the punchline.
Despite getting more money now I'm on newstart I don't like being on the government teet. One, I don't trust the length of red tape and number of hoops to stay consistent, and two it's less money than I could be making in even a c4 job. However I have a problem, despite acres of marketable skills, my lifetime history of paid work comes down to about six months, give or take a few days... I blame an unspent youth.
Point is, the government is pushing me to apply for jobs I won't get, even if qualified, because my resume is more or less empty of experience, and all my references are more or less useless, and I haven't exactly seen any response to my pleas for help in this area. I wonder how the drones deal with this (or does it even register with some of them?), the wilful ignorance of the state in assuming that the my only problem is I've never gotten off the couch to apply for jobs, and I with my obviously impaired brain need to be pointed at a computer and told how to use it. I don't need the government in order to do that, so what is it they do all day?
The thing which turns my stomach the most is that I want to work, and I'm still getting nowhere, only now I'm living a bit more-comfortably. I don't need advice on how to do the B6-obvious, I don't need to be treated like a drooling idiot, what I need is a better resume. Not as in how it's written, but what's on it... *sigh* </rant> |
