Why do people do this? by archnerd 2007-07-01 21:16:08
I met a girl on eHarmony last month. We went through their guided communications, exchanged some letters, found common interests in everything from Tolkien to philosophy to Esperanto. Friday she sent me a message inviting us to get together. I gave her my number, she called me last night and this afternoon, and we made plans to meet up in a public area and go to dinner. I called her at 8:20 to tell her how to find me (exactly where I'd be standing and what I'd be wearing), and got no answer, so left a message. I continued trying to call until 9:20, and left another message saying "sorry we missed each other, let's reschedule". I returned home and sent a message over eHarmony's messaging system containing a summary of the same information that I left on voice mail, in case her phone was lost/disabled.

No response as of midnight via any medium. Perhaps I'll hear from her in the morning with a good explanation, but this is starting to look very much like flaking out.
