An offensive question for women... by Illiad 2007-07-01 15:11:45
Or rather, a question for women about something possibly offensive. ;)

Do you consider it insulting or demeaning to be referred to as a "chick"? I've been calling women of semi-adult age and up "chicks" for as long as I can remember without causing anyone to raise an eyebrow. Just recently, it was pointed out to me that some women might consider it to be a bit degrading.

Of course I don't at all intend to demean or insult with the term. It's just the word I use to refer to women in general. Under the age of, say, 16, they're "girls." Once they hit their senior years, they're "ladies" or "tough old birds," depending. :)
