Windows XP Home VPN question by VivianC 2007-07-01 14:55:34
I have two laptops, both running Windows XP Home SP2 and with all the latest patches. I am trying to get them to connect to a PPTP VPN network using the regular Windows client.

On machine 1, I go through all the options and it works fine. It connects via my Wireless card or the Verizon PC-Card broadband.

On machine 2, despite following the exact same steps, it keeps setting up the VPN as a Dial-up connection and will not connect via my Wireless card or the Verizon PC-Card broadband.

Please help! This is driving my nuts! Am I missing a patch or something? The setup options were exactly the same (I did them side by side) but the results were different. Machine 1 is older.

HALP!
