when the ps3 came out a lot of titles looked like crap, firmware fixed them so they looked acceptable. Then I got mine, and since then they added upscaling, and the ability to set it to stretch to widscreen or leave at fullscreen, on the PS3 so you don't have to screw with your tv for the proper shape. (though its a bit hidden away). I use it almost entirely for PS2 games, DVDs (with upscaling, and streaming video... its a great device for that... but crappy ps3 games so far...
