I empty my freezer into four ice chests, haul it out into the back yard, and hose the ice out. If I'm in a hurry and/or want to use less water, I hit the ice with my pressure washer. I can have it ice-free in under 10 minutes if I really want to hurry it along. Of course, in a dorm situation, even the hose might be hard to come by. Bottom line, though, is that now oot doesn't have a freezer at all. This is a common mistake. It is seldom made twice in my experience.
