It takes some time to really get good at it by radiowave911 2007-06-17 19:24:29
I am nowhere near as good as I would like to be, I have done a bunch of editing, but I don't do it often enough :) I usually use Adobe Audition, but then again I am usually editing audio on a machine designed specifically for that purpose. We have Audition on the production Prophet system machine at the radio station.

You can achieve the same things with Audacity, though. Like you said, you just have to learn how to manipulate things properly. Many people can tell you how, but you really have to learn it for yourself - knowing how and 'knowing how' are two different things entirely, IMHO. Audio editing is one of those things that I feel cannot be taught, it must be learned.
