of them - TCoM and TLF are - IMO - very weak compared to the rest of the books, and aren't a good starting point into reading the series. For that, I remember reading that TCoM and TLF are actually novelizations of a D&D session that PTerry was a part of at some point, and it turned out to not make as good a novel as it did a roleplay session...
