for the most part of just records of the past. they become something more when a particular value is placed on them. for me, my stomach turns when the collector of various things like this is a neo-nazi (or someone with similar leanings).

personally my view is that anything of significant historical value needs to be shared. it can still be owned by a private collector, but it would be nice to see it in the public sphere. with having been said ultimatly I would leave it up to the owner to decide what to do.
