TXU is out there now. They shut the power off at the next pole over and they're trying to figure out what they need to replace. It looks like there's a downfeed from the 3-phase lines at the top of the pole that runs to the church next door to the apartment complex, and the downfeed is what shorted out. When I was a wee lad back in Phoenix, the SUBSTATION down the street from us blew. The REALLY BIG transformers...the ones that are the size of a minivan...one of those blew up and caught fire. Power was out for 4 hours while APS tried to fix it. The smoke from those fires is nasty-smelling stuff. I can still remember seeing the green flash of light.
