With the about-to-go-out-of-business-or-be-sold company, outages and busy signals are rare. We'd be happy to stay with them if they'd just keep existing (last time we had to switch ISPs, we had to go through four companies before we finally found them). Our phone service in the whole area does suck (neighbors too, so it's not just our house), and probably is responsable for some of the times when we can't connect faster than 28.8, but we're used to dealing with that -- we just need to find a replacement decent dialup ISP that won't add another layer of suckage on top of the existing phone company problems. Don't know of anybody in the area that grows cherries, but we do sometimes get wild strawberries growing in the weeds. Smaller than store-bought, but SO MUCH more flavor...
