$company has a new trainee. He bragged on his first day that he "hacked all passwords of the teachers in his school". After that he has been warned not to do that. I just checked (with my PFY) what he has done so far. - Trying to circumvent proxy filter by using proxy websites. (failed partially due to dumb proxy websites - has been corrected) - Trying to circumvent proxy filter by using wget instead firefox (failed). - Asking my PFY what we have against gulli commercial domain. - Deleting Browser history (we have a squid log full of stuff...). - Trying to su and sudo. (failed, of course) - Trying "passwd root". (failed...) - Trying to modify /etc/shadow with nano (is not installed) and vim (failed). - Trying to rpm -all (?!) Tor (!). (failed, and usage would have failed too) - Trying to create an openvpn connection. (failed at firewall) - Trying to access his home ftp server (DynDNS). (failed). - Trying to start kismet and aircrack-ng (are not installed - why, this is a desktop computer without WLAN card!). - Trying to "clear" the console repeatedly. (worked!) - Trying to find out how regexp work. (apparently failed) - Not trying to remove .bash_history. (succeeded) At the moment I think he doesn't have a clue about Linux. Script kiddie (I know they are dangerous too).
