there's the regular, text-only installer and there's the GUI installer on the LiveCD (what Qcumber-some was talking about) personally I HATE the LiveCD GUI installer as it's kernel compiler is daft, it goes and compiles everything under the sun and doesn't even present you with an option to configure it yourself
