sell for 2.00 only costs them 1.25 after they figure in labor and utilities though, it does make a bit of sense.

Now drinks though... MAN that is a money making scheme!!!! At the theatres in the mid 80's the LARGE cup cost them .05 and the soda in it cost them .03... everything else was PURE PROFIT. ...Now to forstall the inevitable "OMG theatre food is expensive and a rip off" ;) The theatres just about break even on the entrance cost because of the rental fees on the movies from the production companies. 90% of their operating costs are paid for by the snack bar.
