The "solution" to the "dire problem" has become to offer a flat monthly fee for unlimited text messaging (I believe the going rate is 5.99/mo). Complete with commercials which feature kids using "text speech" while conversing with their parents.

It's appalling, but then again, we have things like proponents for "Ebonics" as a recognized language.

I've never seen the allure of text messaging, never sent one in my life. I can conceive of the utility of them, but not nearly to the tune of using text messaging for conversation.

But, then again, that's "news". Apparently, on CNN - CNN - the had to cut away from - cut away from - a real news story (having to do with the highest ranking uniformed officer in our military being removed from office, or something like that), to show us...



Paris Hilton. She was... getting into a car... They then spent the day talking about how ridiculous it was for news media to constantly cover such fluff stories like Paris Hilton, while continuously covering the story of Paris Hilton. I have no sufficiently barbed comment to appropriately sum up such actions.
