you may want to ask him if he has been tested for allergies. My parents business deals with some people that are bi-polar and their allergies aggrivate it a lot during some parts of the year. I seem to remember you saying in your original post that it is a seasonal thing and thought I would mention it :-D

They have also had some luck using Aangamik DMG (DMG == Dimethylglycine)as a suppliment to help people with bi-polar disorder regulate their mood swings. It is NOT a replacement for their meds but is there to assist them.
