having the "counter slip" will indeed speed up the warranty repair/exchange proceedings, and may make refusal ... very hard. Not having said paperwork, but a proof of payment AND the item matching (roughly) the price tag: which shop owner/clerk would WANT his customer to call ... the ministry of economy, or worse: the police to come register a clear ripp-off ?
For anything carrying a serial number, they are supposed to have those on listings. They do NOT want "government" to come check these for completeness either. (Well, even if they NEVER did any tax evasion, they don't want people to come over and look into their paperwork: costs time )

So I don't think that warranty on a big screen like that (hey, 42, that's the whole universe, and why it is there and all) would be refused if you bought it anywhere "legit". And in the rare case of ... these resellers don't take chances, are known to promptly exchange the "goods" (a broken monitor doesn't deserve that name) for "new stuff, same specs". Of course, if YOU would try ripping THEM off, they may strike back very hard.

( "Hello sir, how's Benny doing in St Mary's kindergarten?" ... may sound as a kind question to some, coming from Al Capone it IS a threat though)
