I haven't had a real holiday in 10 years. When the weather at the NS-14 nationals prevented my father and I from sailing (5-metre seas and 30 Knot winds on a daily basis). Going on holiday with my father is not a holiday, it's like a week-long field trip where every spare moment of time is micromanaged. So this was a pleasant surprise. I got wise eventually and stopped going on holidays with my family, but that's just a break, not so much a vacation.
