But extremely important to see the big picture again, why you are doing what you are doing. When you still can see a purpose, it's fine. When you don't do anymore: Do anything else.
Two years ago, I was really desperate in my job. Now I have a realistic goal for the future, and suddenly it feels much better again. I still cannot quit my job here, I still need the money and I have responsibilities (administering the linux cluster).
What makes my daily routine bearable: I took Sir Alec Guinness as my guide: He *hated* Star Wars, but he took his profession so serious that anything below a good acting would have been unacceptable to him. Same to me: I'm so honest to admit that I don't like my job, but it would be beneath me now to show crappy results. I now know my job is not forever.
