have a look at this: here.

It's a script (plus some extras) that downloads all the Windows Updates you'll ever need and even creates the appropriate ISO for you. The best part is, that after the next Patch Day you can run it again and it only downloads the new (missing) updates and can build you an updated CD/DVD image.

I think it's a cool way to update your bare Windows install without exposing it to the big bad web.
