I want to do funky things, like select a random 'color' each time.

The 12F pic can source/sink 25mA, so it can cope with the current from each LED. That said, I don't want to link the LEDs directly to the pic while using something like that voltage stepper, because it can't take more than 0.3V over Vcc.
