I. Am. So. Angry. by Bastetsmuse 2007-06-03 16:28:36
My kid apparently didn't understand that I MEANT it when I told her school was her #1 priority, and that not doing her homework really angers Mom.

I just started lifting restrictions and this afternoon I find out that she's blowing off the last English assignment of the year... due tomorrow. Yesterday she did NOTHING except watch television and today she was at a friend's house. I called to check on them and the friend said "I'm doing my homework" ... which flagged that MY child had some, too, since they're in the same classes.

I went and picked up my daughter (nearly 13), brought her home, and grounded her a3 for a week -- possibly to triple in time if that assignment isn't completed tonight. If she blows it off again, I'll cancel her birthday party, too.

I hate feeling like an ogre, but how in heck do I get through to the kid except by busting her perks and taking away her social life?
