I've got two Linksys routers. One is my front end router, and the other is a VOIP router. The VOIP router is working fine behind the front end router, but I can't connect to it for management. Whenever I try, I basically get an error that the site cannot be found.
Basically, I have to connect the front end router to the WAN interface on the VOIP router, otherwise the phone line will not register. So as not to confuse things, I have the LAN side and WAN side of the VOIP router on different subnets. LAN side is 192.168.1.0/24, WAN side is 192.168.10.0/24. I have tried it with everything on the same subnet, and it doesn't work either way.
I've enabled the VOIP router for remote management, and it's still a no go. If I connect the front end router to the LAN side of the VOIP router, I can get in fine, but using that as a permanent solution would require two cables between the two.
I've tried setting up static routes, but I've no idea if I've done it correctly, but I've deleted them anyway.
Anyone know how I can make this work so I have remote management of the 192.168.1.0 router from the 192.168.10.0 subnet?
I've also tried enabling RIP and setting up each router as a router instead of a gateway. That seemed to make things worse, as my internet connection seemed to suffer for it. I had some downloads that dropped from 70KB/s to 10KB/s. |
