Dumb question about wind energy. by joecrouse2007-06-03 10:08:27

The congressman is an anti-wind lobbyist, and presented no legitimate concerns about danger to birds, at least none stated in the article. I mentioned the California site as having the avian problem, which is being dismantled now that they discovered the problem.

Wind turbine manufacturers (or those who buy them) are already required by law to keep a record of such bird/bat deaths on all wind farms. At least Vestas has had no incidence in years, and the article gives no actual indication that the case is otherwise.

Even not having my wife's input, the article indicates fairly strongly to me that the congressman is a sabre-rattler, and is lobbying against wind energy for the interests of wind-haters. Somebody's profits are at stake. The rest of congress also seems to be unimpressed by his claims.
