Welcome to the W:ET post of the day.
W:ET (short for Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory) is a free first person shooter game for Windows, Linux and Macs that a large number of UFies play.
Current server: wolfet.austinkp.com
Server alias: wolfet.uf-et.org (which should remain constant even if the server moves)
Current server status
Useful information about the server run for UFies (e.g. the password, the rules we play by and some advice for newbies) is available in the FAQ on UF W:ET.
There is also information and advice in the Enemy Territory diary however many of the links in the diary are now out of date.
In addition to this post and the Diary there is a W:ET discussion board for longer term discussions.
The UF W:ET Wiki contains a who's who list and additional information on the game.
Download and installation
The current and (hopefully) most accurate install instructions should be here.
The instructions below are intended purely as a backup in case the wiki goes down, I try to keep them current but this is not guaranteed.

The game
In theory everything you need should now be available from files.uf-et.org.
Alternatively you can get the game (windows and linux ports) from the download section of the ET tab on http://games.activision.com/games/wolfenstein/
Windows: Install the patch to 2.60 from the above link. Grab et-2.60b.zip from http://austinkp.com/etpro/ or http://deverant.pp.fi/wolfet/ and copy the two .exe files into your W:ET directory. Grab the etpro-3_2_6.zip file from the second of those two links and install it.

Maps
In theory these should auto download as needed. Generally it is far far faster to grap them manually from austin or deverant using the links above. Either grab the zip file or if space / bandwidth are an issue then try to connect, see which map it starts to download, exit and grab it by hand. Repeat until it's happy.
They are also available in bulk as .rar files from this forum post.

Warning: Many of the links in the diary and some of the ones in the forum are out of date, the ones here should be current. If you find one that is dead please let me know.
Common command line options: +server [server name] and +password [server password] can come in handy.
