If you are going to be late to a doctor's appointment, call the office and tell them! It'd even be nice if you told them why, especially if you have a justifiable reason (car accident causing a traffic jam; you had to attend a funeral).
If you do not, do not be surprised when you are asked politely to do so the next time! And for heaven's sake, don't WHINE about it.
Often, you are booked into a 15 minute time slot ... being ten minutes late leaves you 5 minutes with the doctor, or delays every other patient scheduled after you are! It's being courteous to let the office know! Heck, I've had offices reschedule me if I can't be on time; why was this difficult for the woman to comprehend?
This gripe brought to you by a medical office employee who just was whined about, the patient complaining that I "scolded" her when I asked her to call next time if she were going to be late! AARRRGGHHH....
