I only read today about your dumpster looted PC. Since you're not certain it boots correctly as there is no vid Here's something you might try: If it boots by CD, make a bootable cd that writes a little file to A: and shuts down. If the file apears on the diskette, your pc boots and you can work further on getting vid, fixing heatsink If there's no A drive anymore, another solution might be to try sending a short mail. providing there's a (working) NIC You get the drift, try to get it to do something after boot that is checkable on another PC.
