1 whole-bodied chicken
rub
2 tsp (teaspoon) granulated garlic powder
2 tsp granulated onion powder
1 tsp kosher salt
2 tsp granulated black pepper
2 tsp ground chili powder
1 tsp tumeric powder(optional)
Beer can steamer
1/2 can beer
2-3 cloves garlic, crushed and diced
1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp rosemary flakes
make rub, rub chicken inside and out, and let set several minutes. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. in half can of beer, put garlic, pepper flakes, thyme and rosemary. Insert beer can into chicken cavity, and arrange chicken in tripod arrangement, so that it stands in a baking dish. cook chicken for 1 hour, or until juices run clear. remove from oven, let cool, remove beer can from chicken (discard beer can!!!), and cut chicken. |
