We had a robotic system on the third floor in a VA hospital. The system was mostly pneumatic. I got a trouble call and had to go to Redlands California to diagnos the problem. The valves were spitting at me.

It turns out that the air-dryer in the basement had failed and some idiot decided to just bypass it. The extra moisture collectors were completely full. The valve exhausts were spitting at me. Those robots never worked correctly again.

A pneumatic slide doesn't work correctly once it has been completely filled with water.
