invokes Excel Gurus by postaljohn 2007-05-18 11:08:35
(hangs head in shame, but that's what I have to work with at work)
My Question is a two-parter:
I'm dealing with hand-written forms in the form:bin number (from automation), bin label, sample size, and then number (and types of errors) For example, one line (colon-separated) might look like:
130:Rancho Cordova:150:2
The label is filled in by a VLOOKUP table. That is, on my worksheet I key 130 in the bin number, and the VLOOKUP returns Rancho Cordova.
1)I can see how to copy the values that I fill in onto another form that is going to be printed, but how would I go about copying only the calculated values onto the final version.
2)Also, is there a way to automatically create a label for the final report, of the format $MACHINETYPE_$SYSTEMDATE? For example APPS_05_18_07.xl (using today's date as an example) I'm going on vacation in several weeks, and I want to make things as simple as possible for the people who are going to generate my daily reports. You can reply into my diary,if it makes things easier. They're using Windows and Windows Office 2003, and there's not a chance in the seven Romulan Hells of getting them to switch their minds. Hopes my explanation makes sense.
Thanks bunches
