It's an open plan office. by Khaar 2007-05-18 05:49:46
We already work in the same "room", except one developer who's one floor below, but the upper floor is more of a balcony (covers a good half of the room itself), so people usually just yell if they need something (I prefer to walk to the person if I don't see him or yelling is required).

These meetings (initially every two weeks, we'll see if they have to be done more or less often) aren't intended for people to demo their projects in detail, just to present the concept of the solution and what of what parts it consists. I'd have to write all this down any way (if I'm responsible for people, I'm also responsible for their work, long after individual projects are finished too) so I want it to be quick and short as well. Besides, about half of projects at any time are only a modification of an existing solution with few new specifics, so there's not much to present here; on the other hand, larger projects usually involve multiple developers and they don't need to explain the same things. And if I listened to an explanation of each individual object, method, SQL table or variable, even 40 hours a week aren't enough.

Don't write it down. Have them present it to you, by Klaranth2007-05-18 05:58:56
