There is anything that is not covered under someone else's work. So many people have pumped stuff out in JS, someone, somewhere, will be able to lay claim to ANY work you do. And they always seem to have more lawyers...
More importantly - never assume there is anything in the code you should not keep secret. Even the simplest code can give a hacker leverage into breaking your system.
My advice, rewrite to a cgi-script. Lots of good how-to info on the Net, and chances are it will become necessary in the long run anyway.
