16 cups of batter nad over an hour and a half of by radiowave911 2007-05-09 19:27:26
baking time and the first cake is done for the Bridal Shower this weekend. I have been asked by a friend of ours to make a cake for a bridal shower she is throwing on Saturday. It will be two layers/tiers. The bottom is 15" x 3". The top is 11" x 3". 16 cups of cake batter went into the bottom. It baked for about 95 minutes or so. The next layer will be done tomorrow, then decorated on Friday evening, finished Saturday morning and delivered to the shower at 10.

I am gonna be busy. I hope the store is not out of fondant (I don't want to try making the stuff - it is a bit of a pain to do). If they are out of fondant, it will be my usual buttercream frosting, or perhaps I'll make a royal frosting instead and crack it (on purpose). Makes for an interesting effect. I did a 25th anniversary cake for a relative that way once.

It has been a long day (started with my alarm going off at 0445, a full hour before it usually does), a (almost) 3 hour drive to New Jersey, a day of work there, followed by a problem there, then an hour and a half drive to our corp HQ to pick some stuff up, then another hour and a half drive home. After which I had to go to the store to get what I needed to bake the cakes, then mixing the batter and baking the first cake. After all of that, I am beat. Therefore, it's off to bed with me.

G'Nite all. Sleep well, UFies.
