I took a class on vegetarian cooking on Sunday a week ago and the instructor there was talking about how it's becoming more and more common for teens to decide to become vegetarians. The only problem with that is that their definition often tends to be "not eat any meat" but otherwise sticking to their same diet. Not good! Eating a well balanced diet, including or excluding meat, is the main thing no matter what you do. My reason for taking the class was to add more vegetables and beans in our diet, I did not swear by The Holy Carrot never to eat meat again - in fact I sort of did the opposite, intending to add meat to some of the dishes I learned how to cook.
