gargled and snorted (I climb into the shower for the latter). 1/2 tsp of salt to about 8 ounces of water. Gargling soothes the throat, and snorting it into your sinuses while taking a hot shower can help shake loose nasty infected stuff from your sinuses. OR.... go make a plate of spaghetti with garlic sauce; minimum 5 cloves of garlic.
