obtained by the end user - there is *no* way of stopping someone who is really serious about it.

Your best bet is to have a server-side script that does the real work, and javascript that does callbacks to it to get the data and use that. Even then, the javascript will be obtainable by people but you can make sure that it has to run from that particular page to actually do anything (Hint: Referer checking).
