                                I'm not arguing that 16 million is correct by DesertRat66 2007-05-09 13:45:57
I'm stating what I know and what I DO NOT know.

To address your concerns: Could there be 16 million immigration cases pending in the courts? The U.S. has 300 million legal citizens, so I would say it's possible (since that number is only 5% of the population), but without confirmation I will not argue that it is or could be correct.

I would like to see something at least giving some indication that the number could be correct like I did by linking the article about asylum applications. My guess of 100,000 pending asylum applications may be wrong but at least I provided something to show that it is at least possible.

BTW with a divorce rate nearing 50%, Criminal cases, traffic violations etc. I'd say 16 million total pending cases in the U.S. is VERY plausible.
