You don't have to have a crystal clear voice to be good. Yes, there are some flaws. She has a bit of a timbre in it in some registers. I happen to think that makes her voice rather distinctive, and adds to the performance, rather than take away from it.

She's trained as an opera singer, but while her "flaws" may limit her in classical opera, those same flaws may enhance her voice in other musical mediums, like her work with Nightwish.

It doesn't mean there aren't people with voices BETTER than hers either. There are. That doesn't mean hers is not still very good.
