to fix something can be strong enough to bypass higher reason.

I've done what nix just did, only, I decided to do a test before closing the unit back up.

the wires that power the fan got sucked into it, and it stopped. I automatically reached in to clear the fan WITHOUT DISCONNECTING THE POWER.

needless to say, I discovered the heatsinks were live the hard way.

Still, no harm done. and now I've learnt to sit on my hands and think before I do something.
