We must have had a crappy PBX system, then. by hadji2007-05-09 10:48:56

            Question . . . by hadji 2007-05-09 11:29:47
Are PBX systems capable of all of the following?

With the new IPT system, our receptionists can transfer calls to appropriate parties by dragging and dropping on their computer screens. They can even do this interoffice (e.g. our Atlanta office gets a call from someone who should ultimately be talking to someone in Chicago. The Atlanta receptionist can simply drag and drop the call to transfer it.)

Our receptionists are raving about this functionality.

I can log into any phone on our system to have my extension work on that phone for as long as I need it, then simply log out when I'm done.

I can load up a soft phone on my computer so I can place and receive calls from and to my regular extension so long as I have my notebook, a headset, and internet access that allows a VPN connection.

The corporate directory that is accessible from the phone is scheduled to sync once a day with Active Directory, so it is always as accurate as AD.
